My preferred go to breakfast spot in Ventura. Small. Charming. It's a hidden gem. Ashamed to say I hope this stays that way. It's never crowded, foods great, service is friendly.
We were in Oxnard for a few days and ate at the Golden Egg Cafe both mornings. They have a lovely patio outside on the marina, which is dog friendly and has a vacation vibe. The service is ultra friendly and super attentive without being overbearing or annoying. We both ordered their skillet breakfast along with fruit which was all delicious. They make amazing banana bread and we got some to go!!!!!

The food was excellent - the best over medium eggs I've had - and they were served with perfect bacon and crispy, homemade hash browns. Everything from the hotcakes to the flapjacks to the griddlecakes was delicious and homemade. Although the outside was a little cold, the view of the dock at the marina was beautiful. The restaurant has a great location and an excellent atmosphere. The service was fantastic, with the owners coming out to say hello. My daughter enjoyed herself; we were there for her birthday breakfast celebration. The servers and waitresses were very attentive and sweet. Overall, it was a great experience with fantastic service and delicious food.
We love Golden Egg. We go here all the time!!! My favorite thing to get is the Denver omelette, and substitute ham for bacon. Incredible. The prices are really good for how much food you get and the service is so good nearly every time! This is a home-y breakfast place if that is what you are looking for. This is our #1 breakfast place in Ventura/oxnard, and the Oxnard location is amazing. There almost is never a wait time, and truly the food is so good. My 2 notes would be: 1. If they could have specialty coffee/espresso drinks that would be awesome. 2. If they could make fun seasonal pancakes that would be very exciting! We love Golden Egg!
Went this morning with my boyfriend as a late Valentine's day breakfast since I was busy yesterday and this place did not disappoint, such great quality food and great price! The service was great, very nice and welcoming. Had very nice seating outdoor, great view of the harbor! Definitely recommend come grabbing some breakfast.
Found this place thanks to the Yelp app. Great food and even better service. The view from the back patio is really nice too. The chili verde had good amount of spice and the coffee was so very good.
